Founded in 1976 by Dale and Nancy Ketterhagen, D.M. Ketterhagen Builders, Inc. initially operated out of the Ketterhagen home in New Munster, Wisconsin. As the business grew, they relocated to their new offices and shop building in the Burlington Industrial Park in April of 1990.

Their son, Troy, joined the business in 1993 after receiving his engineering degree.
